Center for Behavioral Education and Research (CBER)
The purpose of CBER is to conduct and disseminate rigorous research that
improves educational and social outcomes for all children and youth
in schools. Areas of interest include design of
instruction, literacy, learning strategies, positive behavior support, applied
behavior analysis, evidence-based practices, organizational and system
change, and academic and behavioral assessment and evaluation.
CBER goals:
- Conduct, translate, and disseminate school-based academic and behavior research.
- Prepare personnel for the application of evidence-based academic and behavior
practices and systems in schools.
- Prepare leaders to conduct, translate, and disseminate academic and behavior
research; develop demonstrations of effective instructional and behavioral
programs; and prepare future personnel.
- Establish and evaluate demonstrations and exemplars of effective,
durable, efficient, and relevant systems of evidence-based academic and behavioral practices.
- Collaborate with researchers, service providers, personnel preparers,
families, community agencies, and others involved in improving school functioning and outcomes.
- Establish and sustain a research and education Center entity in the Neag School of Education.
